THE PHOENIX SCHOOL · SACRED TEXTS & DISCERNMENT

Read beyond the gate.
Keep your discernment.

Study Yeshua, the formation of biblical canons, early Jewish and Christian writings, doctrine, translation, empire, mysticism, and the questions institutions have not always welcomed.

No replacement dogma.

“Noncanonical,” “apocryphal,” “deuterocanonical,” and “removed” are not interchangeable. Different communities preserve different canons. Every entry identifies tradition, approximate date, surviving evidence, scholarly uncertainty, and spiritual interpretation separately.

THE DOGMA LABORATORY

Examine the claim, not only the conclusion.

Each study separates scriptural language, later doctrine, institutional history, alternative readings, and questions for personal discernment.

A WORKING TIMELINE

How traditions took shape

Dates are approximate and represent historical ranges rather than false precision.

THE PHOENIX DISCERNMENT METHOD

Five questions before belief becomes a cage.

01

What kind of text is this?

Poetry, law, apocalypse, parable, letter, biography, liturgy, polemic, or mystical revelation?

02

Who preserved it?

Which community copied, translated, included, disputed, or rejected it—and under what pressures?

03

What can history establish?

Separate manuscript evidence and scholarly argument from theology and spiritual experience.

04

Who gains power?

Notice how a reading treats empire, hierarchy, women, outsiders, conscience, body, and authority.

05

What fruit does it bear?

Does it deepen truth, compassion, responsibility, freedom, and repair—or demand fear and surrender of discernment?
